Analysis of the output graphs

To analyze the output graphs, there are (at least) two procedures that can be helpful:

  1. Data cursor. It gives you the exact data at a given point.
  2. Plot Browser. It allows the selection/elimination of a given curve.

Choosing the UAV model (characteristics)

Let's start working on the selection of the UAV model following this methodology: Task 1.1 - Analysis of the main characteristics. We are going from the work of André Noth in his Doctoral Thesis [3] that we have renamed as  3 -Conceptual_Design_of_Solar_Powered_Airplanes_for_continuous_flight.pdf" ". In chapter three of this Thesis, an analytical method is introduced to determine the viability of a solar UAV. That method is implemented as a MATLAB program, which solves a third-degree polynomial equation to determine design feasibility. The code is comprised in the following files: Main.m, InitParameters.m, EvaluateSolution.m and MinimumPositive.m available in  Deciding the model . Defining the power and propulsion subsystems Let's first choose an aircraft configuration. In this our first Solar UAV, we are going to use Sky-Sailor [1] as the basic prototype. Therefore, we need to set its specific wingspan (3.240m) and aspect ratio (12.9) in Noth's MATLAB code. Electric power. For defining the electric power subsystem, we are going to follow this procedure: 1.
